Nepal Tourist Visa:
For Indian passport holders, the process of obtaining a Nepal Tourist Visa is relatively straightforward, as they do not require a visa for entry. However, when traveling to Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu from any international airport in India, Indian citizens must present a valid Indian passport or Voter Identity Card (Indian Electoral Card). It’s essential to note that Aadhaar Card and Driving Licence are not accepted as valid documents for boarding flights to Kathmandu from Indian airports. Conversely, non-Indian passport holders can conveniently obtain a Nepal visa on arrival at Kathmandu International Airport. Alternatively, they also have the option to apply for the Nepal entry visa online, providing a time-saving alternative for a seamless entry process at the Kathmandu airport.
Chinese Group Travel Visa:
Obtaining a Chinese Group Travel Visa is a meticulous process, particularly for Indian passport holders. Regardless of their current residence or geographical location, Indians must submit their original passports to the China Embassy in New Delhi through the tour company that secured the necessary Tibet entry permit and invitations. The visa decision by the China Embassy in Delhi takes approximately 4-5 working days.
On the other hand, non-Indian passport holders, including NRIs with non-Indian passports, OCI card holders, and Green Card holders, need to undergo biometrics at the China Visa Center in Kathmandu. They are required to submit their China entry visa application along with the original passport, visa application documents, and recent colored photographs in a specified size and format. The China Embassy in Kathmandu takes about 3-4 working days to process and decide on such visas. This meticulous procedure ensures that travelers comply with the necessary requirements for a smooth and legal entry into Tibet.
Tibet Travel Permit
Tibet Travel Permit is yet another important document in getting you into Tibet. This document is issued by Tibet Tourism Development Commitee of Tibet’s Culture and tourism Department. Hence it can be applied by local Travel agency and China Indian Philgrim service centre on your behalf. It usually take from 15 – 20 days to get all the Tibet travel permits for Kailash Mansarovar Yatra. Hence please have it applied atleast 25 days in advance for the smooth travel to Kailash Mansarovar

Ensure you’re equipped with a torch and a whistle, essential tools that contribute to a safe and enjoyable experience by the lakeside.
DAY 08 : LAKE MANSAROVAR TO DARCHEN
In the early morning, participants undertake a visit to Mansarovar lake for a sacred bath, engaging in puja, hawan, and other customary rituals. The breathtaking beauty of the lake, accentuated by the morning light, coupled with the majestic presence of Mount Kailash, creates a truly enchanting scene. Despite the lake’s chilly waters, devotees, fueled by deep spirituality and devotion, willingly partake in this holy bath, an integral aspect of the pilgrimage. It’s crucial to note recent Tibetan government regulations that prohibit direct immersion in the lake, categorizing it as a punishable offense. As a result, participants are advised against entering the lake; instead, our sherpas facilitate the sacred bath by bringing water in buckets. Following the dip and prayers, the group proceeds to Darchen, traversing Rakshasa Taal and Chiu Gompa and completing 70% of the parikrama around the holy lake. The remaining segment of the parikrama is scheduled for the return journey from Darchen after the Mount Kailash kora. DAY 09 : TREK TO DIRAPUK, 1ST DAY KORA/PARIKRAMA OF MT. KAILASH, 12KMS
Embarking on the sacred Kailash Mansarovar Yatra, our day begins with an early rise and a light breakfast, preparing us for the spiritual journey ahead. Prior to commencing the trek (kora), pilgrims have the opportunity to explore Yama Dwar. Tarboche, our starting point towards the South face of Mount Kailash, offers the option to hire horses or ponies for the trek, though prices and availability are regulated by the local Union and Kailash yatra operators, beyond our control. Advancing from Tarboche, we move to Yama Dwar, marking the commencement of the 12 km trek to Dirapuk. Despite the trek’s relative ease, the high-altitude conditions introduce challenges, making each step a breath-taking effort. A brief stop amid the journey provides access to small shops and tea stalls, offering a chance to rejuvenate before pressing on to Dirapuk. The sight of the majestic Mount Kailash, standing tall on the right side, greets pilgrims upon reaching Dirapuk. Capturing this awe-inspiring moment with photographs, we proceed to the guesthouse near Dirapuk Monastery, anticipating a night of extreme cold below zero. A quick and light dinner, featuring Khichdi and soup, prepares us for rest in the beds, fostering the resilience required for the transformative pilgrimage.

This flexibility ensures a tailored experience for every participant, aligning with their preferences and comfort levels.
Optional trip from Darchen: For those seeking an additional spiritual dimension to their Kailash Mansarovar Yatra, an optional trip to Ashtapad from Darchen is available upon request. It’s important to note that this excursion entails a trek from Darchen to Ashtapad and back, as the Chinese authorities do not permit transport services in this area. The pilgrimage to Ashtapad is contingent upon obtaining permission from local authorities and involves direct payment to Tibetan Guides for the journey. This unique and spiritually significant side trip adds an extra layer of depth to the overall pilgrimage experience, allowing pilgrims to connect with the sacred landscape on a more personal level.
Visit Charan Sparsh from Dirapuk : Embark on a spiritually significant journey by visiting Charan Sparsh, a transformative experience nestled at an altitude of 5475m, just a 3 km trek from Dirapuk during the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra. This optional trek, not included in the standard package, provides pilgrims with the opportunity to seek the divine by touching the revered feet of Mt. Kailash, believed to embody Lord Shiva himself. The decision to undertake this challenging 2-hour trek depends on weather conditions and the guidance of the tour guide, adding an element of adventure to this sacred pilgrimage.
DAY 10 : TREK TO ZUTHULPUKH VIA GAURI KUND, 2ND DAY PARIKRAMA, 22KMS
Embark on an early morning adventure, awakening before dawn to witness the mesmerizing spectacle of the first sunlight gracing the sacred Mt. Kailash, casting a radiant glow known as the ‘Golden Kailash.’ Following a swift and light breakfast, prepare for the day’s trek by filling your flask with hot water and packing snacks for lunch. This day, marked as the most challenging of the entire journey, entails a steep ascent to the formidable Dolma-La pass at an elevation of 5630 meters, followed by a precipitous descent to Gauri Kund. Along the route near Dolma La pass, vibrant prayer flags flutter in the mountain breeze, and personal belongings of pilgrims are scattered around, creating a poignant site known as Shiva Tsal (Shiva Sthal). Tradition holds that those undertaking the parikrama should leave a symbolic offering, such as a used garment, ornament, a drop of blood, or a lock of hair, signifying the relinquishment of one’s current existence and a fervent wish for the end of hardship. The day’s trek spans approximately 22 kilometers, culminating in a night stay at Zuthulpuk Gompa.

Any additional arrangements required for this change, encompassing accommodation and meals in Darchen, will be the responsibility of the traveler(s) initiating the schedule adjustment. All associated expenses for this alteration are to be borne by the individuals making the decision to deviate from the original plan.
DAY 11 : 3RD DAY TREK TO DARCHEN, DRIVE TO SAGA
